SJ was a forensic accountant. Then she died, woke up on Amathera as a Fae Assassin, and found herself neural-linked to an AI called Dave.
  Dave is sarcastic, annoyingly precise, and right more often than SJ would like. SJ is calm, analytical, and has a habit of finding the exploit in everything. Together they are working out how the System that runs Amathera really works, in a world where reputation is currency and the rules are not always what they seem.
  The System has labelled her an anomaly. Some call her malware. SJ just wants to look after the people she cares about and be left alone to do it.
  The universe has other plans.
  It starts light, sarcastic and a lot of fun. It does not stay that way. Friends become family, the stakes get real, and the people who benefit from how things work start to notice an accountant who keeps asking where the numbers went.

  This series started as a web serial here on World Anvil, and every view, read and comment since has meant a huge amount to me. Over 1.1 million views later, I am humbled by it every day.
  In 2024 I signed with Podium Entertainment and the books have been coming out ever since. The first six are under contract, but I am aiming for ten before SJ and Dave's story could possibly reach a conclusion. And there are still no guarantees that ten is enough.
